April 25, 2014, Friday – The 12th Sanggguniang Panlungsod in today’s regular session has confirmed the appointment of Ms. Cathely O. Torremocha as City Government Head I of City Human Resource Management of the Office of the City Human Resource and Management Offices effective on April 10, 2014.
Ms. Torremocha is an accounting graduate of Silliman University and is a Certified Public Accountant. She once worked as the Accounting Supervisor for Purefoods Corporated assigned Visayas-Mindanao area. She joined government service in 1999 in the National Food Authority and worked as Accounting Supervisor. By 2009, she changed profession and worked in the Human Resource Management Office as the Administrative officer at the National Food Authority. She joined the City government effective this April 10, 2014.
With Ms. Torremocha extensive work experience, the City is confident that she will handle the City’s Human Resource and Management Office effectively and efficiently.
It’s been years since Tagbilaran have become this festive as the annual Fiesta sa Tagbilaran approaches. The early signs of merry-making are now evident on the streets of City of Friendship. The colorful banderitas adorning above our streets are dead give-away of the fast approaching fiesta which will be celebrated this Labor Day. Pageants are being held in different districts in order to choose the most fitting representative in each district to vie for the Mutya ng Tagbilaran 2014. There are different festivities already being lined up for this upcoming fiesta. One couldn’t just help it but feel excited for what’s to come. Just this morning, the City officials led by Hon. Mayor John Geesnell L. Yap and Hon. Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso celebrated the Tabo sa Tagbilaran ug Kumbira at the Central Market Area fronting the Integrated Bus Terminal.
The program started with a motorcade flaunting the lovely candidates of the MUtya sa Tagbilaran. The motorcade’s route was from the City Hall towards the Tagbilaran City Central Public Market. Hon. Bebiano M.Inting, Vice Chair of the Saulog Tagbilaran 2014 welcomed all the guests and participants of the event. Inspiring messages were delivered by the Mayor of Tagbilaran City, Mayor Yap and by Governor of the Province of Bohol, Gov. Edgar M. Chatto. The ribbon was cut by Gov. Edgar M. Chatto, Mayor John Geesnell L. Yap, Tagbilaran City Vice Mayor Jose Antonio S. Veloso and the First Lady of Tagbilaran Mrs. Jane Censoria Cajes-Yap. Participants of the Booth Showcase Competition did not fail the viewers for they truly wowed the audience with their booths. The morning program ended with the showcasing of the booths. However, the fun did not end there because this afternoon the Tagbilaran Central Public Market held another contest which indulged the audience to a very delicious smell that would make mouths water and stomachs go hungry. The afternoon event graced by Hon. Leonides L. Borja and Hon. Edgar R. Bompat is no other than the Humba Cooking Contest. Savory aroma of the humba wafted through the air while everyone watched who could cook the most sumptuous humba. The participating barangays were given certificates and the winning barangays were awarded by none other than the Hon. Mayor himself while he was assisted by Mr. Pedrenio U. Besa, Jr., the head of the Economic Business Enterprises.
The fun will not stop today for there are more to come because the creative minds of the geniuses behind the Saulog still have more in store. So come one, come all sa Saulog sa Tagbilaran.
