A CLOSER LOOK INTO THE ROAD PROBLEMS OF SAN ISIDRO DISTRICT

San Isidro Session
The 12th Sangguniang Panlungsod is hell-bent in its objective to hear the core problems of each barangay in the City and what better way to get to the heart of each barangays’ problems than to conduct of City Hall Sessions. Today, September 19, the 12th Sp conducted another successful joint session, this time with the Sangguniang Baranagay of San Isidro.
The Sangguniang Barangay of San Isidro’s main concerns focused mainly on roads and drainage or canals that are not maintained and pose risks of accidents and danger to the residents of San Isidro. The following roads being proposed by the barangay for concreting and asphalt overlay works would traverse to Cabawan District providing more convenient public access to City and Provincial Facilities such as the City Jail and BJMP; the other road proposed for development is the Binayran Road which connects San Isidro and Dampas. The concreting of Binayran Road would give the public an alternate route to MMG Coop Hospital and will also minimize the traffic along JA Clarin street because Public transports can use this street in going to the Integrated Bus Terminal. Binayran road could also be used as a farm to city road wherein truckloads of produce from the towns will be transported using this route towards the Dao Central market.
The 12th Sangguniang Panlungsod’s responded to San Isidro’s problems by referring to the Committee on Appropriations and Committee on City Planning so that the proper committees can further study their next steps and what actions to take. The SP will coordinate with the current project of the city to identify possible barangay roads measuring at least 8 meters wide that can be reclassified as city roads so that the City Government will receive a bigger share in the tax revenues to fund these road development projects.
