CITY GOV DONATES LAND FOR COA BUILDING

September 12, 2014 —Ms. Jeremia A. Lagunda, State Auditor IV, Team Leader  and Atty. Eva Cabrera, Supervising COA Auditor of Bohol joined the  12th Sangguniang Panlungsod during the second regular session of September. The COA heads personally requested  the 12th Sangguniang Panlungsod for 1,000 square meter parcel where they propose COA Building will be built. Initial requests for a vacant lot from the Provincial Government of Bohol were declined despite the earnest efforts of Governor Edgardo M. Chatto because they could not find any suitable lot that would pass  COA Central Office standards in terms of accessibility. The 12th SP  immediately catered to the request of the COA and have  included the urgent request as a Special Order of the Day.  The  City Government generously donated the parcel of land and the 12th SP’s presiding officer Hon. Jose Antonio S. Veloso banged his gavel to signify the approval of Proposed resolution 138 – 14, a Resolution,  Authorizing the Hon. Mayor John Geesnell Yap to enter into and sign a deed of Usufruct in favor of the Commission on Audit on a 1000 sq meter parcel of land as a site for the proposed COA office building.

The COA top officials expressed immense gratitude for granting the request and will proceed with the construction of the COA Office Building once the donation is finalized. COA was faced with the urgency to relocate because of the needed renovation of the building they are currently occupying which was damaged by last year’s terrible 7.2 magnitude earthquake.
