The members of 14th Sangguniang Panlungsod led by City Vice-Mayor Jose Antonio “Toto” Veloso approved the renewal of the Tagbilaran City Police Station’s Local Anti-Criminality Action Plan on January 27, 2020. As explained by Police Lt. Roy G. Susvilla, crimes have been increasing if we compare the data between the last quarter of 2019 and the last quarter of 2020. There have been increases particularly in the crimes of physical injuries and theft. The Baranggay Drug Clearing Program has also been continuing, and it will only stop when all the barangays are cleared from the occurrences involving illegal drugs. Thus, the Local Anti-Criminality Action Plan needed to be approved by the City Council to further ensure the protection of lives and properties of the residents of this City, maintain peace and order and uphold the rule of law, making Tagbilaran City a safer place to visit, live, work and do business. City Councilor Eliezer Borja was the sponsor of the passed resolution.
