To increase the par productivity and have a sufficient supply of food for every household, the Department of Agricultural- Regional Field Office 7 is allotting P 3 million for the implementation of the City’s Urban Agricultural Program. The DA-RFO 7 have long recognized the capacity of Tagbilaran City as a strong partner in the implementation of the DA projects. In order for the partnership to flourish, the 14th Sangguniang Panlungsod led by Jose Antonio S. Veloso, approved a resolution authorizing the City Mayor to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with DA-RFO7. Atty. Salvador D. Diputado, LL.M., Ph.D., representing the DA-RFO 7 joined the SP’s regular session today and highlighted the obligations of both parties in the implementation of the Urban Agriculture Program. As such, the program involves the establishment of Mushroom Houses, Community Gardens and Modern Urban Agriculture which are all part the productivity/enhancement projects under the Agriculture Stimulus Package. Atty. Diputado assured that the DA-RFO 7 will provide the technical and financial assistance for the operation, repair and maintenance of the facility to ensure continuity and sustainability of the Urban Agriculture sites and projects for the succeeding years. Whereas, the City through the Tagbilaran City Veterinary and Agricultural Office will play the vital role in the effective delivery of the program by reaching out various communities in urban areas. Through these programs the City and DA aim to accelerate the recovery and bolster the resilience of our economy. The Resolution is sponsored by Hon. Dulce C.
