
City Vice Mayor Jose Antonio “Toto” S. Veloso, presiding officer of the Fourteenth Sangguniang Panlungsod, approved the ordinance proposed by the Committee on Appropriations, which will allow City Hall employees to receive their PBB grants. The proposed ordinance was presented by Committee Chair Hon. Jose Esteban Timoteo Butalid during the city council’s regular session on June 25, 2021. A total of P6.3 million was allotted for the city hall employees’ PBB. Late this May, we received news that the City of Tagbilaran is one of the local government units eligible to receive the Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) for the fiscal year 2020. The PBB is a bonus given to employees based on their contribution to the accomplishment of their department’s Overall Targets and commitments. Under the PBB, units of Departments will be ranked according to their performance. The ranking of units and personnel will be based on their actual performance at the end of the year, as measured by verifiable, observable, credible, and sustainable indicators of performance.The best performing department (top 10%) shall receive a bonus equivalent to 65% of their 2020 basic salary. Better performing departments (next 25%) will receive a bonus of 57.5% of their 2020 basic salary and the rest of the departments (remaining 65%) will receive 50% of their 2020 basic salary. The City Planning and Development Office ranked the departments according to their performance and the Office of the City Human Resource and Development determines who are the qualified personnel to receive the bonus.
