During the third regular session of the 15th Sangguniang Panlungsod, Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer Adam Jala approved the proposed resolution sponsored by Hon. Jonas Cacho to increase the tricycle fare.
The resolution states that a a five pesos (P5.00) provisional increase on existing regular (minimum) tricycle fare rates of P10.00 and a two pesos (P2.00) increment for every succeeding kilometer or fraction thereof is considered just and equitable under present circumstances considering the adverse effect of the economic conditions of the country that are now being deeply felt by the operators/drivers of motor tricycles-for-hire and their families.
the motorized rickshaw operators/drivers must be feeling bombed by the price hike they might lose some customers but if it’s not hiked they will also lose and there’s nothing to bring home. hopefully those of you who are struggling to make a living out there stay healthy because the impact of an unstable economy is felt by the middle to lower class.
