To further strengthen its programs for solid waste management, the City Government will be using the P5,000,000.00 financial assistance from the Provincial Government of Bohol in purchasing 15 units of glass crushers and 30 units of 4-strole grass cutters. Hon. Jose Esteban Timoteo B. Butalid sponsored Resolution 24-61 which allows the city to avail of the P5-million financial assistance from the Provincial Government of Bohol.
Each of the 15 barangays of the city will receive 1 unit of glass crusher and 2 units of 4-stroke grass cutters. The City recognizes the important role of the barangays in the implementation of solid waste management, hence the need to support the barangays’ solid waste programs and distribute more equipment to help the barangays in performing their function. By enabling each barangay through participation in SWM, it creates a sense of ownership among the barangays, which in turn contributes to the sustainability of SWM programs and lets the barangay widen its reach as their respective barangay residents become advocates for proper SWM.
