The 15th Sangguniang Panlungsod accredited 2 women’s organizations during their regular session on February 19, 2024.
Committee on People Empowerment, CSO Accreditation, External Affairs, Special Affairs and Public Information Chairperson Jonas R. Cacho stated in his resolution that the Tiptip Women’s Organization and Taloto Women’s Association have satisfactorily complied with the requirements and criteria for accreditation as a civil society organization in accordance with the procedures and guidelines set forth in DILG MC 2022-083.
Although these women’s organization will no longer have any representation in the Local Special Bodies (LSB) they still play an important role in supplementing the government’s efforts to uplift, empower, and protect the vulnerable, disadvantaged, and marginalized sectors.
It is hoped that as more women’s organizations take part in the city government’s projects, program and activities, it will create a more diverse, inclusive and better-trained workforce, as well as a gender-responsive institutional environment leading to better results and equal human rights for all
