15TH SP ACCREDITS 8 MORE CSOS, RECOGNIZES 3

Pursuant to the Local Government Code and as provided under Memorandum Circular No. 2019-72, dated May 22, 2019 of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, 15th SP granted the application for accreditation of the following eight CSOs during the regular session held last September 13, 2022:

1. BOHOL TOURIST MULTI-PURPOSE COOPERATIVE

2. CEV CREDIT COOPERATIVE

3. CHOCOLATE HILLS AMATEUR RADIO LEAGUE, INC.

4. EASTERN BOHOL OPERATORS AND DRIVERS TRANSPORT COOPERATIVE

5. IBT TRICYCLE DRIVERS ASSOCIATION

6. LAPEZ UNITED NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION, INC.

7. NEGROS WOMEN FOR TOMORROW FOUNDATION, INC.

8. TAGBILARAN MASSEURS MANICURIST AND VENDORS ASSOCIATION

A total of 130 CSOs have now been granted accreditation by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in adherence to the principles of participatory governance. The City Government of Tagbilaran actively promotes the establishment and operation of people’s organizations, non-government organizations, and the private sector to make them active partners in the pursuit of local autonomy, and to directly involve them in the plans, programs, projects and activities of the city government.

The accreditation process is done within 60 days from the organization of the newly elected sanggunian for purposes of representation in local special bodies. However, the SP continues to accredit CSOs even after the 60-day period.

Meanwhile, three more CSOs were recognized by the august body through SP Resolution 22-183:

1. Poblacion I Senior Citizen’s Association

2. Poblacion I Women’s Association

3. Pundok sa Gagmay nga Mananagat sa Ubujan

Recognition is granted to applicants who have satisfactorily complied all the requirements and criteria for accreditation as a civil society organization in accordance with the procedures and guidelines set forth in DILG MC 2022-083 except for the Certificate of Registration or existing valid Certificate of Accreditation from any NGA.
