As the City ushers forward under the administration of Mayor Jane Yap and Vice Mayor Adam Jala, emphasis is being placed on the importance of school-industry academic linkages in the implementation of student internship programs. Hence, a resolution sponsored by Hon. Nicanor S. Besas was approved by the 15th Sangguniang Panlungsod authorizing the City Mayor to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with any school, college or learning institution that desires to link and partner with the City Government of Tagbilaran.
These internship programs assist in the development of future skilled workers and service professionals who can effectively contribute to the attainment of the city government’s vision of a highly-urbanized, resilient and livable Tagbilaran City
The program enables students to learn life skills in the workplace. It is designed to initiate the youth in the realities of public service and serve as recruitment mechanism for potential public employees.
