Calamities and emergency situations require special attention. This has been deemed important and was given attention by the Fourteenth Sangguniang Panlungsod, led by Honorable City Vice Mayor Jose Antonio S. Veloso, during their regular session last February 14, 2020 at the SP Sesssion Hall. A resolution was submitted and approved, authorizing Honorable Mayor John Geesnell Yap II to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), Bohol Branch Office, in the setting-up of a temporary GSIS Service Desk to be located at the City Hall Atrium, during times of disasters and disruptive events, like fire, earthquake, flooding, utilities breakdown, etc. This is part of their disaster preparedness and risk mitigation campaign. The temporary GSIS Service Desk will act as a satellite office where it can receive applications for claims and loans from affected GSIS Members until GSIS is able to return to its own office or set up a new location.
